Whitestone Funerals Chapel, Weston Road, Oamaru
We provide a modern chapel with easy access and extensive off-street parking for over 100 cars on-site. The chapel, set within a tranquil rural setting, can comfortably seat 180 and is equipped with great sound and audio visual systems. There is a spacious foyer area and outside covered areas with views to the gardens.
Opening out to the sheltered gardens is the Stringer Catering Lounge that provides a lovely atmosphere to share a ‘cup of tea’.
Westview Memorial Gardens, next to Whitestone Chapel, is a beautiful woodland setting and a lovely place to spend some time to sit and remember that special person. A variety of memorials are created by walls, gardens, trees, lawn, and edgings.
Stringer Catering Lounge
Offering refreshments after a funeral is regarded as an important aspect of the funeral service. This is a time for meeting up with family members and friends, sharing stories and recalling in greater detail the life of the person who has died. Sometimes it is also an opportunity for a family reunion.
Adjacent to the chapel we have Stringer Catering Lounge, opening out to the sheltered gardens, to cater for families wishing to have morning or afternoon tea after the funeral service. Stringer Catering Lounge is a welcoming place and has a fully equipped modern kitchen. A hostess ensures that functions run smoothly, relieving families of this burden, and arranges for everything to be provided.
OTHER VENUES - Funeral Catering can be provided at other venues. You can talk to us about the style of food to be provided. Some church groups also offer to cater for funerals; where they do, we are happy to assist in any way.
Westview Memorial Gardens
Next to Whitestone Funerals Chapel lies a tranquil space away from the rush of daily life.
The beautiful woodland setting is a lovely place to spend some time to sit and remember that special person. A place to remember can be important, in a safe and peaceful spot, close to nature.
A variety of memorials are created by walls, gardens, trees, lawn, and edgings. The goldfish pond at the bottom of the garden sparkles in the dappled sunlight, a nice place to reflect.
The mature trees give shelter and shade over the manicured lawns. Our semi-rural setting gives you lots of space, but lets you know you are amongst good supportive friends.
Westview Crematorium
Whitestone Funerals operates Westview Crematorium, adjacent to the Chapel and Memorial Gardens at 54 Weston Road, Oamaru.
Westview is the only crematorium in Oamaru. Professionally operated by the caring team at Whitestone Funerals.
Only one cremation ever happens at a time, and all the ashes are returned to you. Ashes can be interred in our Memorial Gardens, or scattered in some special place.
If you are interring the ashes or keeping them at home, we can provide a nice Urn for them to rest in.
